HOUSTON, TEXAS (June 8, 2006) … Escalante’s Fine Tex-Mex newest location opens doors and gives customers Tex-Mex worth eating, talking about and eating again. Its fourth location in the chic, upscale Highland Village shopping center located near River Oaks comes with a new branding look for Escalante’s.
The new look blends modern, mid-century, contemporary design with Tex-Mex food. The logo utilizes contemporary typefaces with ancient Mexican culture icons. The inspiration came from modern Mexican architects like Luis Barragan, and Ricardo Legoretta, traditional Mexican folk art from the Aztec and Mayan cultures, as well as Mexico City – known for its contemporary design and architecture.
Escalante’s Fine Tex-Mex is best known for its quality food and superb service. Owners Patrick Escalante Torres and Kopi Vogiatzis take great pride in serving the finest Tex-Mex in Houston. This new location inside the loop is ready to serve your weekly “Tex-Mex Fix.” They use only the freshest, highest quality ingredients when preparing food. “Since 1993, Escalante’s has been proud to serve our guests the finest Mexican food in Houston. We strive to find the best ingredients for all of our recipes. All of our recipes are made daily from scratch,” said Vogiatzis.
The restaurant’s warm vibrant colors offer a soothing atmosphere that will make you want to linger longer than necessary. Throughout the restaurant is rich, beautiful teakwood, as well as glass mosaics made from recycled Corona bottles. The fresh new Mexi-Modern look will appeal to the fashionable Highland Village crowd. This new location will seat more than two hundred guests inside, with a private event room that seats twenty five guests, and a beautiful patio that seats one hundred guests.
Native Houstonians Patrick and Kopi learned the restaurant business at a young age since both of their families owned restaurants. Their success is evident with the fun and friendly atmosphere, dependable service and great value.
All items on the menu are consistently exceptional. Escalante’s has a reputation for their table-side guacamole which is made with fresh and chunky ripe California avocados. Another favorite appetizer is the chili con queso blanca, a Houston original. The kitchen’s skill in cooking traditional, popular Tex-Mex is evident with loyal patrons returning hungry for more. A few of the signature dishes include enchiladas de espinaca prepared with fresh spinach and mushrooms stuffed in two homemade flour tortillas topped with a roasted corn salsa and Chihuahua cheese; a sizzling fajita platter with your choice of chicken or beef; and the Carne Asade Escalante, which is a skirt steak atop tequila-peppercorn sauce. For seafood lovers, enjoy the Camarones Rellenos, six bacon wrapped grilled shrimp, stuffed with mild jalapeno and Chihuahua cheese. For margarita fans, the bar serves the finest margaritas made from scratch with freshly squeezed lime juice. The El Patron Margarita, made with a premium smooth blend of Patron Silver and Patron Citronge will satisfy your margarita needs. The latest popular drink is the Classic Mojito, this mambo dancing cocktail is cool and refreshing, made with rum and fresh mint. The ultimate finish is the legendary Tres Leches, this Houston favorite is blended with three milks to create a delicious cake.
